They called him The Voice. Tilahun Gessesse (1940–2009) sang through Ethiopia's Golden Age with the Imperial Bodyguard Band and the Hager Fikir Theatre, and when the famine came in the seventies and eighties he used that voice to raise money for people he would never meet. That is why his name still stops a room.
This is a tribute, not merchandise. Curated by DJEZ1 from the records that raised us — the ones our parents played on Sunday mornings and never explained, because they assumed we already knew.
The garment
- 100% ring-spun US cotton, garment-dyed after construction — soft and broken-in from the first wear
- Heavyweight 6.1 oz, relaxed fit, pre-shrunk
- Tubular knit with no side seams for a clean drape
- Double-needle stitching throughout; sewn-in label
- Sizes S–4XL
Care
Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. The colour will soften with age — that is the point.

Between sizes? Size down for a closer fit, up for an oversized look. Garment-dyed pieces are pre-shrunk but relax a little after the first wash.

Items need to be unworn, unwashed and in their original packaging. Return shipping is on you unless the item arrived damaged or we sent the wrong thing - then we cover it with a prepaid label.
